How does a person summarize 56 years? I was born in Colorado and raised in a small town close to
Telluride called Rico. My Dad was a miner and the most wonderful gentle man in the world. I could ride a
horse before I could walk. I have an older brother and older sister and a younger brother all of whom I
adore. They are the most precious gifts my Dad and Mom ever gave me. I had a wonderful childhood.
We were poor but happy.
I graduated from High School, got married, had a son and a daughter and thus began a career in law
enforcement. I was in law enforcement for over 21 years. First in communications then on the road and
back to communications. When my husband and I decided to move to North Carolina I gave up my career
in law enforcement and my daughter took over where I left off. That was 13 years ago. I fit into the South
like a hand does to a glove.
I work for a company called EPRI (Electrical Power Research Institute) and have been there 10 years as
an Administrative Assistant. My love for computers has helped me begin a new career in an area that
both stimulates and challenges my mind.
In 1995, I was diagnosed with breast cancer and that prompted me to share my story with others but first
I had to learn to build a web page. You can find my story at my web site http://www.joycearendt.com/Breastcancer.htm
I am self-taught like most people, but I have to admit to being totally addicted. *smile*
I have 2 grandsons and a granddaughter. I know I am very lucky to be here today and never take that for
granted. Life is precious and it is love and people that really count.
Love and blessings to all

Julz
I'm Julz, a teen who has taken refuge in the world of poetry in order to escape the stress of day
to day life. I am the youngest of a large family, meaning I never got to meet some of the elders in my family; but
this just makes me appreciate those I do have even more.
I love to walk in the woods and be alone with my thoughts sometimes. With GCSEs behind me, I
have my sights set on the future and, when the educational year rolls round again, will be studying
Theology and Philosophy, History of art and English Literature. I explore as many different aspects
of art as I can; from poetry to photography.
Labelled the 'geeky G&T' by my piers, I am continually trying to find my place in this world.
Thanks for reading,
Julz

Dee
Born in Montreal Quebec of French Canadian Italian parents, I have been speaking two
languages all my life. I now live in Vancouver where the climate gives me the freedom to go out
every day of the year, yes it rains, but … if you stick around awhile, you will see the sun – and that
makes up for all the rainy days.
When asked my age I always reply, “Closer to seventy then sixty.” In cyber space I am also known
as “Vintage”
Life for me is always exciting, busy and never boring. I host and maintain a large International
Poetry Competition which has been on the Internet for five years. We welcome all poets, no entry
fees and we pay cash prizes.
Along with creating my own designs and graphics, I am learning to write scripts, animation, it is my
goal to continue to learn. The Internet is a vast school of learning.
My passion is my children, my grand children, and. . . my great grand children. I enjoy cooking,
travel and so much more. I live alone but, I am never lonely. Life is exciting and I intend to leave
this world used up, spent, and happy to be so, that is my motto!
