LadyJaye, real name "Judy", was born and raised in the heartland of
the USA, Missouri, where I live with my husband "Whitey," am very
close with my three daughters; Tawney, Tasha, and Tami and love being
Mom Mom to my five grandkids, Christopher, Colter, Callie, Caysee and
Tyler. Prior to becoming a "netaholic" I was very involved in local,
state and national politics, having held an elective office in my
hometown. I was employed as Executive Secretary to the State House of
Representatives Research Office for 17 years. Throughout my life I
involved myself in many civic affairs and am listed in the publications
of Who's Who in Missouri and Outstanding Young Women of America. I do
have to admit that dust now collects on some of the awards I received
for contribution to various organizations, societies and charities.
Prior to my retirement, my Father was unexpectedly killed and my Mother
came to live with us. Her health declined, thus my reason for an early
retirement so I could care for her. During this time to keep myself
occupied and knowledgeable regarding happenings around the world and up
to par on computers, I purchased a pc for home use. I call it "my salvation"
as it gave me contact with the outside world and allowed me to make friends
I didn't know could ever exist. So many have been here for me on so many
occasions and for that I am eternally grateful. Mother passed away in her
sleep on March 18th, 2000. She, and Dad, are greatly missed. My personal
home website has a memoriam page dedicated to them. I hope those who visit
it will share, with me, the love and sorrow in my heart. (Presently it is
under construction) I will list the site addy as soon as I rebuild it.
It was a casualty of the @home /AT&T disaster.
For recreation I spend many hours on the computer using the mIRC chat program. I created -- and am Channel Manager of an over 50s chatroom where I use the nickname ^jaye. The channel has grown over the past five years to be one of the best 50's channels on mIRC, thanks to the many people who frequent there. As channel manager, the chatroom has become an extended part of my family -- and has become a job of its own. I just haven't figured out how to get paid for all the time I spend working? It is true though, isn't it, enjoyment is one of the highest forms of payment?
Recently I purchased my own domain, and with the help of a friend
(could not have done it without her), I started www.ladyjayes.com website,
primarily focusing on music, but throw in poetry, quotations, tributes; and,
oh heck, a ton more music from Enya to Garth. This is "my baby", my true
frustration and relaxation. And, oh how it's grown. I must be obsessed :)
I hope if and when you visit there you let me know what you think. I am more
than happy to take music requests. I make no guarantees, but I love trying.
Music, as you will see from my site, is a huge part of my life. I could not
choose a favorite song -- as each have words that mean so many different things
to me.
I have met and made many cyber friends on the internet from many parts of the
world including Australia, Canada, Great Britain and from all states of America,
a few of whom I have been fortunate enough to meet in person. I have also
chatted with many from all over via phone lines. I am very proud to now be a
member of Serenity and look forward to getting to know more about each member.
A Virgo by birth date, a true sentimentalist in heart, an amateur writer, I look
to the day when I finally put words to paper and write and publish something
really worthwhile. Until then I am hoping to achieve my fortune by trying my
luck at the casinos or the state lottery or super lottery, but with no luck so
far -- "ah well such is life"!
